Posted on August 20, 2025August 20, 2025 by Saadpress

Today marks five years since the passing of Julie Bennett, the celebrated voice actress best known for portraying Cindy Bear in The Yogi Bear Show. Bennett died on March 31, 2020, at the age of 88, due to complications related to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). She passed away at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Bennett’s career in entertainment spanned decades, with a remarkable body of work in classic animated series. Her voice brought to life beloved characters in shows such as The Bullwinkle Show, Mr. Magoo, The Bugs Bunny Show, and Spider-Man: The Animated Series. She was known for her charm, professionalism, and the depth she brought to every role.

“She was definitely a personality and a throwback to Hollywood glamour,” said her longtime friend and talent agent Mark Scroggs in a 2020 statement

In the 1990s, Bennett transitioned into talent management under the pseudonym Marianne Daniels, where she guided both new and established performers for more than 20 years.

Though best known for her voice, those who worked with Bennett remember her as a vibrant and passionate figure behind the scenes. Her impact on both animation and the talent she mentored continues to be felt today.

As fans and colleagues reflect on her life, Julie Bennett remains a cherished part of Hollywood’s golden age of animation — a voice that will never be forgotten.
