Rob Reiner’s friend Eric Idle details final phone call with director night before he was found dead in home

Rob Reiner was a beloved director, producer, and actor who worked with some of the greatest. He had a close relationship with Monty Python legend Eric Idle, who now mourns his friend. Speaking with the deadline, Idle reveals he talked to Reiner on Saturday, the night before Rob and his wife Michele were found dead, detailing their final conversation.

Director, producer, and actor Rob Reiner and his wife Michele were found dead in their Brentwood, Los Angeles, home on Sunday. Police are still in the early stages of what has happened, but authorities are investigating the incident as an apparent homicide.

The beloved filmmaker rose to fame as Meatball in the 1970s sitcom All In The Family and went on to direct classics such as When Harry Met Sally and the 1992 Academy Award-nominated film A Few Good Men.

Through his many films, he’s worked with some of the greatest, and now, condolences and tributes are pouring in from his colleagues, friends, and fans.
